New Features, New Quests

As my good friend Alain (who by the way is a wonderful photographer) once said: “When YOU talk I DO listen!”
Listen we did. Many of you asked for a distinction to be made between Popular vs. New Quests on Instimage. You got it! Done.
Starting today, you have two tabs making that distinction: “Popular Quests”, and “New Quests”.

There are two more points I’d like to make, so bear with me for a little while longer please!

First, I would like to single out Eddy Dejesus and Nathaly Calle, two seasoned artists who have been posting both quests and photos on Instimage. Their photo work is gorgeous and definitely worth a visit! Congrats to both of you guys, I hope you make big bucks – and that Instimage contributes to your prosperity!

Lastly, I would like to thank Yohann Taieb (who has released an excellent free eBook on mobile marketing by the way!) for his amazing work on our first iteration of ***DRUM ROLLS****   The Instimage iOS App! Woot!

A new iOS app, some new web features, more quests, more photos… join the fun!

How to make money with Instimage?

So you take beautiful pictures? Do you want to make money selling them? We can help.

Instimage works two ways.
1. You can go the “traditional” route, browsing quests, looking for the ones that interest you, snap some photos and upload them up.
2. Snap some great pictures, create quests matching the description of your photos, and upload them to your own quests!
If they’re interesting, the Internet will find them, and users will buy them!

What are you waiting for? Start something great!

Because why not!?

Up until today we have restricted photo purchases on Instimage.com to a quest’s owner only.

If you wanted to buy a photo on Instimage you had to create your own quest and wait for photographers to start posting to it in order to purchase.

This constraint has been lifted as of today. With open purchases, users can buy photos from any quest on Instimage now. I especially love this feature because it increases the value of Instimage to both buyers who do not necessarily have to create their own quests and to photographers, as they get to offer their photos for purchase to an audience that is potentially several orders of magnitude larger!

What a great Summer for Instimage 🙂

New Feature Alert: Quest Notifications

If you’ve recently posted quests on Instimage you will be first to know it hasn’t been easy to keep track of new photo submissions for your quests.
While we love it when you come back and visit us often we love one thing more: To make your life as simple as WE possibly can. No, we won’t pay your electrical bills or take your exams in your stead, but we’ll give you one less reason to keep an Instimage tab open to keep a tab on Instimage (oh, the pun!).
We could have gone gung-ho à la Facebook/Google+ and send you a mail notification for every event related to you on Instimage.com, as it happens, every annoying time, but we did not. Why would we do that!? We have respect.
Instead, we made it painless: If one (or more) of your quests has new entries you will receive one email that day, for each day that it happens.
Say you have 2 quests with a total of 10 new entries for that day, still one email only!
No new photos on your quests? No new email.
You call it love, and so do we. But see, we don’t just love, we love with a passion!
Some of us don’t like to receive even one email a day on those days.
Cool with Instimage, we understand, I’m people too, you know!
Since we’re here to help, we made it so that you can switch from daily to weekly to monthly to never!
1 email a week, or 1 email a month is still helpful.

Now remember, if no new entries are posted on your quests it means zero email notifications, no matter the interval you set.

We have defaulted the feature to notify once a day if you have new entries on your quests. If you wish to change the interval just login and go to “My Account”, then update the “Notifications Interval” (displayed below)

Deactivating a Quest

Justin, our first successful quest owner, asked us on our Facebook page how to disable a quest on Instimage.

We released the quest deactivation feature on July 03. Really, nothing could be easier!

shadows, sunrise, sundown, dawn, evening

Good morning to everyone! Ernesto here. I wanted to share some of the stuff going on over in our quests, such as this gorgeous picture posted by Jean-Pierre Vu. This is for our ongoing quest for new pictures for the Instimage homepage. The current reward for this quest is $25. We love pictures. We love your pictures.

We want your pictures to be our ‘hello’ to visitors knocking on our Internet front door, and we want to pay you for that.

So will others.

That is the beauty of Instimage. One of the hardest aspects of stock photography is finding your market. We have taken care of that with our Quests. When you log on to the active quests you will see requests for exactly what businesses are looking for and how much they are going to pay you for that photograph.

Less searching. More photographing.

What is Instimage?

Instimage is a next-generation, non-stock photography marketplace for photographers, hobbyists, and agencies.

How do you pronounce Instimage?

We pronounce it Ins – tee – mah – ge, a la French!

How does Instimage work?

What Instimage does is allow a user to create a “quest”.
Quests are requests in the form of:
“I will pay $(some amount) for a picture of (description of picture)“.

Photographers and hobbyists can then compete on the quest by uploading their picture for a chance to have their entry selected and earn the reward.

The Instimage Quest

We created an ever-going quest for our homepage background. We’ll be paying $25 (USD) to purchase every photo we like from our users’ uploads. So keep participating, because we’ll keep buying as long as we need new ones!
